A TIME FOR THE SWORD

A TIME FOR THE SWORD

Where there are clouds
There are lies ready to shout
In the wilderness it’s dark
Once inside it’s terror is stark
Where the Jedi is trained
Where a death remains
Of ones old self
The wilderness is transforming
A time to be conforming
To the one that is truth
A time to battle the burden of proof
Trusting on the Word alone
A time to set the tone
For future events
A time to build a tent
For the Lord
A time for the sword

Matthew 4:1-25 [Full Chapter]

[ Jesus Is Tested in the Wilderness ] Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” …

If we are to walk as Jesus walked, we will be tested as He was tested. We will not have the perfect victory as He had, but we will see His perfect victory through our imperfections! Sometimes we create the wilderness experience ourselves by our own choices.

Exodus 7:16

Then say to him, ‘The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to say to you: Let my people go, so that they may worship me in the wilderness. But until now you have not listened.

Whether we created it ourselves or God simply led us into the wilderness, the wilderness experience is intended for us to come to a place of submission and worship to God. We will remain defeated until we are exhausted of all our efforts and learn to rely totally upon Him!

Leviticus 16:10

But the goat chosen by lot as the scapegoat shall be presented alive before the Lord to be used for making atonement by sending it into the wilderness as a scapegoat.

Notice the scapegoat was sent into the wilderness, just as the Israelite’s, Jesus, Job, Moses, You and I. It is important in our walks. It is probably the most important time for training purposes. How you come out of it will define the soldier you will be for God!

Psalm 15:1 [ Psalm 15 ] [ A psalm of David. ]

Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain?

There must be the making of a sacred tent in the wilderness. A place for you and the Lord. A place where you throw out sin, and worship the Lord during the wilderness experience.

Job 22:23

If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored: If you remove wickedness far from your tent

Psalm 27:5

For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.

Psalm 61:4

I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.
