SEPTEMBER 27TH OH JACOB
SEPTEMBER 28TH AWAITING A PRAYER
THE GIFT
God gave a gift to man
The gift did not understand
The gift it was meant to be
So the man went to retrieve
The gift. He knew it would bring
Blessing to his life, you see
The gift saw the man and ran away
So the man began to think and say
I must find a way, to search for my gift
There on the trail, my gift left prints
So the man packed for his trip
And set off to retrieve his gift
About an hour in, there near the rocky cliff
Feeding off the rich land was his gift
So the man came up with a plan
He took a rope from his bag and made a lasso
A trick he learned, growing up in El Paso
So he snuck up on the gift
And flung the lasso with his wrist
Around the neck of his gift
The gift began to kick and run
Dragging the man quite a distance
The man frustrated from the resistance
Tried again, this time he brought a post
And just before the gift almost
Got away again, he drove the post into the ground
Tying the end of the rope, to the post and found
His way slowly to his gift
Climbing on it’s back, there was a shift
and the gift began to kick
until the man went flying off
Again the man dusted himself off
Grabbed the rope and began to break the gift
And break the gift, until the man climbed up once again
And the two rode off as one
Then God said, I’m the Man, You’re the horse
Unless you are broken, can you become the gift
I intended you to be!
I’M SIMPLY BROKEN
If I am honest, and look deep inside
There is nothing I can hide from you
The deep wounds I try to cover
The mountains of pain I refuse to discover
Everyday I act as if I am OK
Everything remains the same
I know there is a work you want to do
A change you want to walk me through
There is healing you desire to bring
If I would be vulnerable and cling to you
This battle between my spirit and flesh
The spirit leading me to water and rest
The flesh feeding my desires, bringing stress
How can I, the clay, say to the Master
Why did you make me like this
I can continue this path and wish
Things were different, or I can submit
To your will and admit, I can’t do it without you
Cleanse me from the inside and make me new
I’m simply broken
SEPTEMBER 25TH YOUR HOLY DWELLING
UNCERTAINTY
Dim the lights, take the white candle by your hand
Then light it, place it on it’s stand
Focus on it’s flame and understand
All that it represents, Holy is He
The pure fire that burns in me
The light that came into our darkness
Light my heart and may it never part with this
The King of Kings called my name
My life in Him, will never be the same
His flame burns all my transgressions
His spirit guides my daily lessons
The growing and learning of who He is
A life that was saved and now lives
For Him and Him alone
His love and grace has set the tone
Of His unwavering light
A light that burns eternally bright
A mercy, we one day, shall fully know
It was on the cross, devotion and love was shown
He will never leave or forsake us
Though we are faithless, He is faithful and we can trust
Every word that comes from the mouth of God
So gaze at the flame, let it, your heart be prod
By the light of truth, and let it burn in you
Allow your heart to be burdened free
Open your eyes, to His burning flame and see
No longer, living in
uncertainty
