HE IS FAITHFUL

Might I find love in the darkness of winter
When my leaves are bare
Might I find it, when storms are there
For when the tide comes and breaks upon my house
I know I will find strength from the rock
In which it’s love was built
When my heart is chocked with silt
love flows from His hands upon my clay heart
As the difficult seasons test and restart
What is dead in me
So the house shall never fall
It’s new leaves and branches shall grow ever so tall
The storms shall remind me
He is faithful

Matthew 7:24-27English Standard Version (ESV)

Build Your House on the Rock
24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

TOGETHER

Who is it that found my wondering heart
This heart that leads me astray
A wanderer whom darkness falls
Memories of one who calls, to the lost
The markers along the way
Road signs that simply say
I am here, come this way
Ignored the signs so many times
Yet I find, your still here pointing the way
In my myopia, looking for a utopia
That I would never find
You patiently waited to remind
What I already knew in my heart
I’m not alone, there is one who walks with me
One who is faithful, who loves me
You have shown me the truth
Sunny days or stormy weather
Only one thing matters
You and I, together

TO LIFE AND NEW BEGINNINGS

TO LIFE AND NEW BEGINNINGS

A long and dark winter
A gloom hovers
Swallowing emotions
The feeling of loss
Seasons counting the cost
The old dying
Pressing forward in love
And faith I’m relying
On all that is written
Of one who died and rose
From the dead
A newness can be seen
In the face of the redeemed
A vine withered and cut off
A new branch forming
It feels so soft
A light breaks through
From all that seemed lost
Promise layers the sky with color
The rain seems to discover
The life it is bringing
All around an echo of singing
To life and new beginnings

BY THIS GRAIN OF SAND

BY THIS GRAIN OF SAND

Life is but an hourglass holding precious time
One knows not how much it holds, or what they’ll find
As the sand falls, it only reminds
Life is short, It’s value is in, to whom you’ll report
The time you were given, the moments lost, sin to be forgiven
Time to grow, to overcome, for some, it will be too late
If you can relate, this moment is precious, the sand falling is a lesson
For those who take it for granted, but those in Him who are planted
Words to reach the heart, a surge of hope to restart
Regain ones focus, the voice of one calling, is a token
To those who hear, time is near, open your heart and do not fear
The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end
They are new every morning; it is time to change the story
I’m handing you one grain of sand, this grain holds the power to stand
And change the course of your life, take it and do what is right
In the sight of the Lord, take this grain, let it remain
In your heart. Let today be the beginning of a new start
Do not part with it, use it then give it away
Lord take this grain of sand I pray
Give it the power to touch and relay
Your heart and love to all who receive it
From the sand Adam was formed and so shall the hearts of your saints be
By this grain of sand

CONTINUALLY MADE NEW

CONTINUALLY MADE NEW

Have I listened to my deceitful heart
Have I allowed what we had to part
Have I judged what was yours to judge
Have I pushed you away, as I remain stuck in the mud
Because I didn’t hold up to my own expectations
I have wasted years, and hindered the relation
That was so dear to my heart
Was it all a trial to in part
Build the man you want me to be
Until now I had thought your love had changed towards me
Foolish to think your work was not enough
The prodigal in me, the diamond in the rough
This broken man, the damaged child, that you touched
Your love has stole my heart forever
For you my heart will endeavor
Whatever this life brings
Purchased an imperfect man you have
By your love and mercy, continually made new
