CALL ME YOUR OWN

logo

I call to you from the depths of my soul
Remember the promises, you once told
Of your everlasting covanant
Your love spoken to the lost and the needy
I want the new life, that is given freely
The gift of the cross
So many times I have found myself lost
Strayed from the path
Pick me up once again and spare me from the wrath
I know i deserve
Lord father, I want to return
To the place of rest
The arms of my savior
Remember not my fleshly behavior
Once again give me favor, and
Call me your own

TOGETHER

rainbow1

Who is it that found my wondering heart
This heart that leads me astray
A wanderer whom darkness falls
Memories of one who calls, to the lost
The markers along the way
Road signs that simply say
I am here, come this way
Ignored the signs so many times
Yet I find, your still here pointing the way
In my myopia, looking for a utopia
That I would never find
You patiently waited to remind
What I already knew in my heart
I’m not alone, there is one who walks with me
One who is faithful, who loves me
You have shown me the truth
Sunny days or stormy weather
Only one thing matters
You and I, together

I’M SIMPLY BROKEN

A MOMENT IN HEAVEN

If I am honest, and look deep inside
There is nothing I can hide from you
The deep wounds I try to cover
The mountains of pain I refuse to discover
Everyday I act as if I am OK
Everything remains the same
I know there is a work you want to do
A change you want to walk me through
There is healing you desire to bring
If I would be vulnerable and cling to you
This battle between my spirit and flesh
The spirit leading me to water and rest
The flesh feeding my desires, bringing stress
How can I, the clay, say to the Master
Why did you make me like this
I can continue this path and wish
Things were different, or I can submit
To your will and admit, I can’t do it without you
Cleanse me from the inside and make me new
I’m simply broken

SHEEP THAT WENT ASTRAY

SHEEP THAT WENT ASTRAY

They stood grazing, in the heat of the sun
All of the flock was content, except one
Always with his adventurous ways
This sheep of the flock decided to stray
Many of the other sheep warned him to stay
Regardless of what they had to say
His heart was filled with desire, and he ran away
Now a sheep without a Shepard, it wasn’t long, he was lost
It was around day break and darkness set in, and came frost
His sheared skin now cold, and he was feeling alone
He began to regret leaving, stubborn as he was, cleaving to his journey
A voice comes burning in his ears, “you there, come over here
Why did you leave your flock?”
Not seeing the sneaky wolf behind the rock
I’m on a journey he said
I’m tired of the flock, I want adventure instead
Come over here to the rock, and I will show you adventure
Then he painted a picture of the most richest pasture
He said he would take him and that he knew the master
Blinded and excited by the temptation, he was headed to disaster
As he began to move towards the rock
Suddenly he heard a loud bang, the wolf was shot
And fell from behind the rock, startled the sheep thought
I was almost eaten, and then he seen him holding his gun
The Shepard stood looking for one
Sheep that went astray

Luke 15 New International Version (NIV)

The Parable of the Lost Sheep
15 Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus. 2 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

3 Then Jesus told them this parable: 4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ 7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

HE TAKES US PLACES OF A DIFFERENT KIND

A MOMENT IN HEAVEN

HE TAKES US PLACES OF A DIFFERENT KIND

From the hill top, all I see is green
The rain that falls is seen
As it falls over the forest
and reflects off the leaves
The sun breaking through the clouds
Beams of light, as it gleams through the trees
Beautiful is not the word to describe, but glory
He took His time to tell a story
As I walk down the hill, the rain is pouring
It strikes my face with a slight sting
I’m ready for shelter
Very little on this journey did I bring
As I get to the edge of the the forest
I get out my sheer to cut a path
Looking forward to begin drying from the bath
The forest is very dark, with sunlight in certain places
Giants leaves, vines, bushes, and trees
Sounds of birds singing, and the buzzing of bees
little did I know what this journey would bring
I found shelter and a place to lay my head and then I dreamed
There was an Angel that glided down from the sky
Terrified, I asked myself, why, she was here
She said, this rain forest is a magical place
Where you will find the wonders of Gods grace
Everything here symbolizes spiritual truth
It is here if you open your heart, you’ll regain your youth
Your mind will open, your eyes will see, Him in everything
Journey, discover, enjoy the wonders of this holy ground
Look around and listen for His still small voice
when you wake, you can come back to visit, it’s a choice
At anytime open your heart and your mind to the spirit
In no time you will hear it, the rain pouring down
The wonderful sound of the trees blowing their leaves
You will see the unicorn glowing through the trees
As she makes her way to the falls, where the river calls to Him
Glory is the God on high, when we enter into the presence of the divine
He takes us places of a different kind

Jeremiah 33:3New International Version (NIV)

3 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

Is it wrong to put things like unicorns, the word magic, and female angels in a Christian post? Have things gotten so legalistic that simple imagination is seen as evil or mythology. Is it not possible there are creatures of beauty in heaven we have no concept of. I love to write, and I love figures of beauty. By no means do I desire to mislead anyone’s beliefs. Or add something that isn’t in the bible. I believe God knows our hearts and loves us to dream of beautiful things even if they are not mentioned in the bible. If it bothers you I will remove them, let me know!
