How often in your life do you think you miss God present and active in your life? Do you think its possible you missed Him last night? This morning? How about last week, when you got into an argument, when you were late for work, when you were at home feeling lonely, during your worst day last week and nothing seemed to go right? How often are you looking, thinking, paying attention to the things of God and God Himself? How open are you to Him? Are you looking? Opening your thoughts, mind to Him. Do you think He is here right at this moment? Do you think He is so active and focused on you that He is constantly trying to get your attention and teach you how to see Him, hear Him, and recognize when He is really trying to show and teach you something that could change the rest of your life. Do you think that its even possible to know God like that on this earth? I believe God is active daily in each of our lives. Desiring to reach you deeply, so He can be glorified through you. Every thought God has toward you is full of joy, love, and hope of your life to be found deep in Him.
At this point in the message I want to take inventory of your heart. Did you start reading this post feeling fatigued, down, troubled, worried about something, hurt from something that recently happened? Where you already in the spirit feeling good with your focus already deep upon Jesus? If you were already focused on Him, your heart right at this moment is eager for all that God has for you in this message. God is already filling you with Joy and excitement for the way He is touching your heart, and you cant wait for the conclusion. The feeling is like you haven’t eaten and you are being satisfied by every bite! If you are the other, you started reading this post with a feeling like that of being in a dark room. Stress, confusion, hurt, worry all have that affect on us. As you started reading, Like Nathanael under the tree, he sees the light of Gods glory but doesn’t really know fully at this point what is taking place. For you it is like being in a dark room and you light a match, the same thing spiritually is happening to your heart and it is recognizable. Truth focused on God has that affect. Those dark feelings are there by the enemy to distract you from God. God using them in moments like this to open your heart and touching you by the light of His spirit, the match! See your day is already moving in the right direction! Praise God! He is focused on you and has set this day apart for you. For you to know He is active in your life, you just need the right focus! Lets look at the scripture and what takes place with Nathanael and his encounter with God.
Jesus Calls Philip and Nathanael
43 The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said to him, “Follow me.”
44 Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. 45 Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
46 “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked.
“Come and see,” said Philip.
47 When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, “Here truly is an Israelite in whom there is no deceit.”
48 “How do you know me?” Nathanael asked.
Jesus answered, “I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you.”
49 Then Nathanael declared, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the king of Israel.”
50 Jesus said, “You believe[h] because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that.” 51 He then added, “Very truly I tell you,[i] you[j] will see ‘heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on’[k] the Son of Man.”
Nathanael was like some of you, praying, very focused and seeking God. This message comes along like a light touching your heart and you see it. Through the light from this message, the Lord comes to you by the power of His spirit, as you sit under the tree of your computer, and your heart says ” you are the Son of the living God”! The Lord reminds you, He is with you and sees you sitting there. His presence comes and reminds you how to get out of the dark places of your heart, how to be refreshed in Him, and removed from the heaviness of your sin or attacks from the enemy, and troubles from this life. He reminds you He is always with you, all you have to do is open your heart and focus on Him. The match is His truth touching your heart, and the end result is His anointing having an affect on your heart, which is the evidence He is with you!
