2014 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 13,000 times in 2014. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 5 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

SEPARATION FROM GOD

logo

Separation from God, most of us do not understand this concept! What does it mean to be separated from God? First let me say most of us choose this for ourselves. Without truly understanding that we are choosing it, we make a conscious choice to live separate from God. I believe this is because most people know that they have a sinful condition. We have desires that lead us in to dark places in our lives. Most of us want to keep our poor choices hidden from the world. The ironic thing is most everyone has a secret or two about themselves. There is a funny thing about some people, though they have hidden things themselves, they are the first to exploit someone else’s hidden secrets and bring them to the surface making sure everyone knows. I suppose it is because when we put the focus on others, all eyes are taken away from us and so our secrets are double protected, so let us reveal someone else’s baggage so my baggage will be out of focus! Mostly we think we can keep them hidden from God or we know we cant hide them from God so we simply avoid Him. Avoiding God, hiding from God is what separates us from Him.

What happens when we can no longer protect or hide our baggage, sin, poor choices? First of all we deal with the humiliation that comes from everyone seeing our brokenness. Second we begin to condemn ourselves, and thirdly we now know God may have been the one to have brought it to the surface and we now have the choice if we will face Him with it or not. How can we move forward? How can we live any longer? How can we face these things about ourselves and what will it look like? How do we face others, now that we are naked in the face of others? How do we deal with the shame?

Lets look at a famous passage ” He who has no sin, cast the first stone”!

John 8 New International Version (NIV)

8 1 but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

2 At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. 3 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” 6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.

But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.

9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

11 “No one, sir,” she said.

“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

So much is happening here, and I can only touch on what relates to my post. I want you to focus on Jesus! His brilliance, His heart, His mercy, His wisdom, His purpose, His grace, love and most of all His mission to each of us! This passage can be broken up into three points.

#1 The accuser
#2 The accused
#3 The Redeemer

#1 The accuser.

Notice the (accuser) is in the form of the teachers of the law (pharisees). They set a trap for Jesus by bringing this women to Him and presenting what the word of God says “In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women”! The accuser Satin in disguise always presents the word of God with legalism. It is always in the form of condemnation. Satin’s ultimate goal is death. He desires to bring nothing but death to us spiritually and ultimately physically for eternity! he desires to separate us from God by filling our heads with lies about who we are. Leading us away from God into bondage and slavery. Enticing us with the lust of this world, blinding us from a heavenly focus.

#2 The accused

The women at this point has been living a life separated from God and her sin leads her right to Jesus. She is brought to Jesus by the pharisees in the temple courts out in front of everyone. All her dark secrets now brought to the light in front of everyone. I’m sure many rumors were already out about her which is why they knew exactly who to grab! The amount of shame this women must have been carrying. Now the shame must be at it’s all time high! Have you ever been humiliated in front of others? Can you imagine the shame from the life style this women was living. Do you have compassion for her choices? She is broken and lost like so many and now used as a plot to destroy Jesus reputation. They planned to kill her, she was to die in her sin! She knew her guilt and sin had finally got the best of her.

#3 The Redeemer

Jesus listens to her accusers, kneels down and begins writing in the dirt with His finger. Some say he was writing each of the teachers of the law sins in the dirt. He straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Can you imagine? All of them holding a stone ready to judge her and kill her. They drop their stones from the oldest to the youngest. Simply by the power of Jesus words of truth. The women awaiting a horrible death now takes a sigh of relief. Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” Jesus expresses only He is left there to judge her and shows His authority as the true King He is!

He then says to her “Then neither do I condemn you,” “Go now and leave your life of sin.” With His ever so amazing grace, He covers her sin and restores her. He then says “Go now and leave your life of sin.” What is Jesus saying to her? Is He telling her to be sinless, to never sin again? There are two places in the bible where I know Jesus says this, when Jesus healed an invalid by the Pool of Bethesda (John 5:1–15). Afterward, Jesus found the man and told him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you” (verse 14) and here with this women. I believe what he is saying to both of them is stop this life style that caused your current circumstances. He knows we cant be sinless. He also knows we can change! We cant be perfect but we can learn to be excellent in this life.

He reaches to her heart protecting her as a true father. He guides her and gives her direction. He tells her to turn from the direction she is living. She turns and is no longer separated from Him. She walks with Him from then on. He is saying the same thing to you, turn from your lifestyle that is causing you harm and pain. He is not asking for perfection, He is guiding you to a better life, wanting to restore your life. If we will trust Him. Maybe you have been to jail and accused. Maybe a spouse left you because of your sin these are all leading you to take the step and listen to Jesus asking you to turn and no longer be separated from Him. He says in Matthew 11:30 New International Version (NIV) 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Jeremiah 29:11New International Version (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

God bless you and thank you for visiting full of roses!!!

ROSE OF SHARON

rose of sharon0023A

Song of Songs 2 New International Version (NIV)

2 I am a rose[b] of Sharon,
a lily of the valleys.
2 Like a lily among thorns
is my darling among the young women.
3 Like an apple[c] tree among the trees of the forest
is my beloved among the young men.
I delight to sit in his shade,
and his fruit is sweet to my taste.
4 Let him lead me to the banquet hall,
and let his banner over me be love.
5 Strengthen me with raisins,
refresh me with apples,
for I am faint with love.
6 His left arm is under my head,
and his right arm embraces me.
7 Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you
by the gazelles and by the does of the field:
Do not arouse or awaken love
until it so desires.
8 Listen! My beloved!
Look! Here he comes,
leaping across the mountains,
bounding over the hills.
9 My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag.
Look! There he stands behind our wall,
gazing through the windows,
peering through the lattice.
10 My beloved spoke and said to me,
“Arise, my darling,
my beautiful one, come with me.
11 See! The winter is past;
the rains are over and gone.
12 Flowers appear on the earth;
the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves
is heard in our land.
13 The fig tree forms its early fruit;
the blossoming vines spread their fragrance.
Arise, come, my darling;
my beautiful one, come with me.”
14 My dove in the clefts of the rock,
in the hiding places on the mountainside,
show me your face,
let me hear your voice;
for your voice is sweet,
and your face is lovely.
15 Catch for us the foxes,
the little foxes
that ruin the vineyards,
our vineyards that are in bloom.
16 My beloved is mine and I am his;
he browses among the lilies.
17 Until the day breaks
and the shadows flee,
turn, my beloved,
and be like a gazelle
or like a young stag
on the rugged hills.[d]

I read this and I hear a love story, But when I look deeper, I see God speaking through these two people. I see these two as God displaying Himself through them as His love poured out to Israel and or to us. When I read this, I remove the two and replace them with myself and God. I see God revealing His love and character through this godly display of love communicated through their love for each other as Gods love for us. If you go back and read it a second time you will see what I mean.

Each of us can do this and I believe it will be as powerful for you as it was for me. It became personalized. Several of my rose poems came from this passage. In my poem (Full Of Roses) I wrote “I found the most beautiful Rose one day” referring Jesus to the Rose Because I believe He is calling Himself “The Rose Of Sharon” in this passage. The reason I believe this is because Sharon was a real place. Sharon is and was the promise land as is all of Israel. It is a picture of “The Garden Of Eden” Joshua and Caleb entered the promise land and it took the two of them to carry back one vine of grapes because they were so large and fruitful.

If you could picture walking in the desert, climbing a Hill, getting to the top and seeing to the other side, and what was on the other side was more glorious than you could imagine. What you would find is Sharon. The grass itself was greener than any other grass. The fruit trees were Huge and the fruit on them also. The Roses were like no other rose found anywhere, a perfect rose, and this is the rose God is referring Himself too! Even the people were Giants. As the Israelite were walking towards the promise land of Israel and they walked through the Desert of Paran into Cannon. Just like our lives the desert is always right before the promise!

Now look deeper into this passage. I believe God is speaking to those who are Lost and who have came to the saving knowledge of His grace and deep love for them. 3 Like an apple[c] tree among the trees of the forest is my beloved among the young men. Do you know how many places in the bible God refers to us as trees? It is as If God is speaking to both men and women differently in how it is written. 2 Like a lily among thorn is my darling among the young women.

Here, if you are a male and have come to Christ and you are now changing and becoming fruitful here is what He is saying to you. 3 Like an apple[c] tree among the trees of the forest is my beloved among the young men. I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste.

And to the female that has come to Christ possibly delivered from addiction 2 Like a lily among thorns is my darling among the young women.

4 Let him lead me to the banquet hall, and let his banner over me be love. What is the banquet? It’s the wedding feast with Christ!
How excited He is that you are saved! He longs to lead you to the banquet, the banquet of yours and His love story. Can you see it? He is using These two to express His heart and love for us, as we begin to enter the understanding of His true heart towards us, ultimately it took Him to the cross so that we could come to the banquet!

10 My beloved spoke and said to me,“Arise, my darling,my beautiful one, come with me.
11 See! The winter is past;the rains are over and gone.
12 Flowers appear on the earth;the season of singing has come, the cooing of dovesis heard in our land.
13 The fig tree forms its early fruit;the blossoming vines spread their fragrance Arise, come, my darling;

Can you remember the desert experience? Arise”, the winter is past; the rains are over and gone. The season of singing has come!!!!

13 The fig tree forms its early fruit; the blossoming vines spread their fragrance.
Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with me.” You have come to the light of truth, your life is becoming fruitful and the Lord is full of Joy about you, just like in the story of the prodigal son. The lord is excited about your future, now that you believe!! Now that you look to Him, follow Him, and are now ready to fight the good fight of the call of God!! As He says “come with me”!!!!

14 My dove in the clefts of the rock,in the hiding places on the mountainside, show me your face, let me hear your voice;for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.

Listen to his gentle voice as we find ourselves having a cliff experience, the feeling as if we are going to fall at any moment, or we are climbing the mountains of life and then we realize He is there the whole time without a worry, calling to us with His gentle voice saying ” show me your face, let me hear your voice;for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely”. Just call to me! I am here!! What a wonderful savior!

He then ends with 16 My beloved is mine and I am his;

turn, my beloved,
and be like a gazelle
or like a young stag
on the rugged hills. Turn, that is our call, to turn towards Him!!

My poem was turned into a song and released January 2020. I hope you like it! God is good!

God bless you I hope you were as blessed by this as I was! His banner over us is love!!!!!!

TO THE DEEP

The deep0028A

Psalm 42:7 [Full Chapter]
Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me.

Listen to the words, DEEP calls to DEEP! If you are wanting to grow closer to God, get to know God, or your relationship with Him is in shallow water, If your time in His word is shallow, If your time in prayer is shallow, If your service to Him is shallow, If your fellowship is shallow, I’m here to say to you, DEEP calls to DEEP! His word says In the roar of His waterfalls! Wouldn’t you like to experience the roar of His waterfalls? When is the last time you have experienced the roar of His waterfalls? I,m talking about the out pour of Gods presence in your life. I’m talking about God drawing near and being active in your life where there is no question if He exists or not. If you will forget for a moment this is a blogger writing His thoughts down and Listen, open your heart, you just might hear, the ever so, still small, but very DEEP, voice of God speaking to you and asking you to go DEEP!

I’m talking about all His waves and breakers sweeping over you with His love! You have to enter into the deep, “spiritually”. let me draw you a picture. Your at the pool, you walk to the shallow end, where the steps are. You step in and feel the cold water, so you go in slowly, your not the type to just dive in. So you gradually make your way into the shallow water but you know God is all the way at the other end at the very bottom. So you take a DEEP breath and get fully submerged! You intentionally dive DEEP and swim towards the depths where He is at the deepest end of the pool.

I wanted you to have that mental picture so you can picture it everyday in your quite time with God this week. Now lets dive into the deep end of spiritual water, Jesus, God and His holly spirit! picture a swimming pool empty, no it’s not a skateboard park. It’ your heart! Now what you need to do is fill it with spiritual water, His word, worship, meditation, and prayer. Not only do you add these things to your heart but you open it DEEP because DEEP calls to DEEP!

Knock and the door will be open to you, seek and you shall find! Seek first the Kingdom of Heaven and everything else will be added to you. The Kingdom of heavens door, is your heart. The key to your heart, is repentance! So grab the key, open the door and enter into the Kingdom of heaven, but let me remind you, He is in the Deep end, so go deep!

LET GO

let go_edited-2

letting go can be such a difficult thing to do. The famous saying, let go and let God! We throw it around as if it is such an easy thing to do. The truth of the matter is, letting go is very hard to do for most of us. Yet everything difficult seems to be the most rewarding. What exactly is letting go? I believe it to be, letting go of anything that keeps us bound up. So many of us hold on to childhood pain, we have trouble forgiving ourselves and or others. Some of us simply need to forgive ourselves. If we have asked God for forgiveness, we have been forgiven.

Psalm 103:12New International Version (NIV)

12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

Letting go, is trusting God to direct your path.

Luke 9:23 [Full Chapter]
Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.

To deny oneself, is to let go. Why so many of us struggle to surrender to God? The world is alluring to all of us, always trying to gain control of our hearts. Anything that we haven’t given over to Christ, is holding us back from the fullness of Christ! I talk to people and they always say I’m not ready yet! Not ready? If your not ready now, what makes you think you will be ready later? What lies have power over you? Are you listening to lies about who you are? What bad you have done? Are you listening to lies saying you can’t quit smoking, quit drugs, quit drinking, looking at porn, you can’t leave an abusive relationship, You can’t overcome your fear, your anger, your gambling problem? GIVE!!! Give it over to Christ, Let Go!

James 4:1 [Full Chapter]
[ Submit Yourselves to God ] What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you?

Seek Him, follow Him. Matthew 11:30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Once you do, that heaviness over you will leave. Bound up!! He came to break the chains. Psalm 2:3 “Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.”

Psalm 146:7 He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets prisoners free,

Let Jesus take the wheel of your life, put Him in the drivers seat. Trust God and see what will come of your life He is faithful. trust me, I did and when I did He blessed me! This gift of poetry came at age 31 when I gave my life to Him. When I surrendered. I will never tell you it is easy what I will tell you is it will be worth it! If you wont do it for yourself do it for those you love.

Jesus father I pray that today’s message would reach hearts! Today Lord anoint this word to touch the heart of everyone who reads it, and give them the power by the Holly spirit to let Go! Help them surrender to you today God. Give them the courage to pick up their crosses and to follow you. Break the chains now Lord by the blood of Jesus! For those who have been following you and are stuck simply of letting go of something you have already been speaking to them about God, give them the strength to let go> In Jesus name Amen!

“YOU”

you0031A

With Christmas so close, I thought it to be a good time for us to reflect on our Savior. “You” is just that, a reflection! I find that when I stop, open my heart and eyes to see Jesus in my life, I can worship and praise Him, turning my doubts, worries, fears, and insecurities into Hope and promise!

Jesus is the light of my feet, whenever I focus on His love and truth it doesn’t matter what I’m going through. I can turn the doubt, lies and faithlessness into truth and faith! Every challenge I have faced including the trials that lasted for years, holding onto Jesus, shown him faithful every time!

When we make our lives about Him as He made His life about us
“You” becomes a doorway to Him!

I’m sure you realize this blog is intended to do just that, open Your heart to His spirit and “you” can find the “You” in Him!

God bless!

I WOULD HAVE TOO!

I WOULD HAVE TOO_edited-2

So many of us have lost someone we love and care for deeply. Nothing can change the deep loss we feel inside. Some blame God like my brother did with the loss of his daughter. On my brothers death bed I was able to help my brother understand God was not to blame and that she would be waiting for him as he entered heaven. My brother repented and gave His life to the Lord before he passed. I have also lost a sister. My loss is not the reason for this post.

The reason for this post is during the holidays it is the hardest Time when it comes to loss of loved ones. It can make it hard to appreciate the holidays for there true purpose. A savior was given. We now have a living hope and an incredible promise of a new life to come. A reunion with those we lost, and through His glory we will be together again! We can praise Him and thank Him for this promise and we can hold to truth they are in paradise awaiting our arrival.

Missing them and longing for them God understands. He misses us and longs for a deep relationship with each of us! He waits patiently for us to come to truth like in the prodigal son. Luke 15:11 God said my son was dead and is alive again!

God knows the feeling of loss and the longer we choose to avoid Him, He feels pain as we do. He is longing for us to come to Him. He also knows and cares for our loss. He has made a way for us to come to Him through Jesus and to be with those we have lost, joining once again for eternity in heaven. Thanks to Jesus

I WOULD HAVE TOO

Are you there? Can you hear me?
I miss you so much, can’t you see?
I never imagined life without you
the need, to see you again
I am daily reminded of the precious gift you are
Every night I look for your star, I’m sure you’re
the brightest one. I know your standing in His glory
I’m sure it will be quite the story
when I come to join you. Is it true
are the streets golden and the skies marble blue?
He must be magnificent, His love intense
I can’t wait to reminisce, of all your days with Him
Hug Him for me, and tell Him I understand why He
called for you. I would have too!

Psalm 116:15

God blessed!

HIS LOVE NEVER FAILS

his love never fails0012A

If we have walked with God for years or we are just starting to look into faith in Jesus, the one thing I can tell you is, His love never fails!
I remember all the years I did not walk with the Lord. Now when I look back, I can see all the road signs that He put in place for me. All of the so called coincidences that I experienced! Which I am no longer a believer in coincidence. God shows Himself along the path of our lives, always reaching out to say, I am here, and my love never fails.

God was constantly revealing Himself to me, reaching out to me, waiting ever so patiently for me to open my heart to Him, His love never fails. Through the process of the testing of my faith, I have learned no matter what this life brings, loss of loved ones, sickness, financial problems, tragedy, job loss, marriage problems, backsliding, or simply times of faithlessness, His love never fails.

So many times in my life I looked at my current circumstances as if when things are going bad, God is not happy with me, and when things were good He was pleased with me. Now I know that He is for me when things are going bad and when things are going good. I remember the very first poem I read (Footprints In The Sand). This poem changed my life and also Inspired me to write poetry later in life. It speaks of when times are tough, God seems to be absent because His set of foot prints are not there. It is during the tough times that God is carrying us, His love never fails.

I would mean so much to me if on this post you could fill up the comments with how in your life, His love never fails. I would really love the seeking hearts out there to be blessed with your heart felt comments on how in your life His love never fails. God bless you! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Fullofrosesinspirationals!!!!

WHOEVER EATS MY FLESH AND DRINKS MY BLOOD

THE CROSS_edited-2

I have met so many people who do not understand what they read in the bible, or understand the basics of Christianity in conversation. Jesus spoke in parables for a reason! He wasn’t looking for relationships on the surface, (fleshly relationships)! He was looking for relationships from the depths of the heart, (spiritual relationships)! His desire is to bring spiritual revelation to us, through a deep relationship with Him.

John 6:54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.

Jesus had just got out of the boat, where He had gone out on the lake to get away from the crowd. The crowd looking for Him, found Him on the other side of the lake.

John 6 25 When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did you get here?” 26 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. 27 Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”

Jesus had just performed the miracle of feeding the five thousand, the people were hungry and Jesus fed their fleshly desire for food! You see every morning we wake and eat, drink, filling our fleshly body with the need for food and water. Without food and water our fleshly body would die. Jesus says to them, “you only asked where I was, because you know that I can fill your fleshly desire for food”. Jesus is desiring a spiritual relationship, not a fleshly one, let me continue!

27 Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you.

He is talking about His body, which is food that endures to eternal life, His body He will offer up on the cross, but it is much deeper then that and I will begin breaking it down for you.

When Jesus said whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood everyone including His disciples were troubled by this! Why? Because they were trying to understand from a (fleshly understanding). Understanding on the surface of things, not the depths of their hearts with (spiritual understanding).

Remember when Jesus asked Peter who do you say that I am? Peter answered, the Son of the living God. Then Jesus said to Him only the father in heaven could reveal this to you! How does the Father reveal things? It is through His spirit, when our hearts are open seeking Him deeply. Jesus told Him He had saw Peter earlier under the tree while He was praying! Remember this, while He was praying! When we pray it is worship to God and invites His spirit.

Unless you eat my flesh! What is Jesus saying here? He is talking about the bread of life! His body, and His body represents the word of God. Unless we eat His word, chew on it, meditate on it, let it digest, let it go deep in our hearts and minds daily. Drink His blood, drink His spirit, worship Him, pray to Him, receive the spirit of God! His blood is the wine, the spirit, the water! Remember when Jesus was on the cross and the soldier stabbed Him in the side, His blood was mixed with water and the soldiers knew He was the Son of God. remember when Jesus turned the water into wine, and He said to His mother my time has not yet come! This is what He was talking about water mixed with blood the wine! water representing His spirit.

So many people miss it, lets look at a Pharisee

John 3 [Full Chapter]
[ Jesus Teaches Nicodemus ] Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.” Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” …4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”

Jesus loved this man and it is obvious He had an attraction to Jesus, but we don’t know what came of this relationship except that Nicodemus was stuck on the surface of things, the flesh! He was unable to understand the spirit of things, just like the crowd. He didnt understand Jesus was talking about being born of the spirit, water, wine!!!

10 “You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things? 11 Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. 12 I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?

How about the two men walking on the road after Jesus was crucified?

Luke 24 On the Road to Emmaus
13 Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles[a] from Jerusalem. 14 They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. 15 As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; 16 but they were kept from recognizing him.

17 He asked them, “What are you discussing together as you walk along?”

They stood still, their faces downcast. 18 One of them, named Cleopas, asked him, “Are you the only one visiting Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?”

19 “What things?” he asked.

“About Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied. “He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people. 20 The chief priests and our rulers handed him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him; 21 but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place. 22 In addition, some of our women amazed us. They went to the tomb early this morning 23 but didn’t find his body. They came and told us that they had seen a vision of angels, who said he was alive. 24 Then some of our companions went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but they did not see Jesus.”

25 He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?” 27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.

28 As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus continued on as if he were going farther. 29 But they urged him strongly, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them.

30 When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. 32 They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”

33 They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled together 34 and saying, “It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.” 35 Then the two told what had happened on the way, and how Jesus was recognized by them when he broke the bread.

Notice these men forgot all that Jesus told them before the cross. Now He is walking with them and they do not recognize Him. So He starts reminding them of the word of God; telling them “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Notice after the word spoken what begins to happen with these two men. They say to each other “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” Their hearts were open to the scriptures (the bread) so they spiritually ate. Now they go to the house and have communion with the Lord, an act of worship, the breaking of bread which symbolizes what Christ did on the Cross. Key word worship and so they drank of the spirit, the drink where you will never thirst again, living water, the blood, the wine, the spirit, and they saw God!

You see our fleshly bodies are alive because we eat and drink food that spoils everyday, but we don’t eat and drink of what does not spoil, drink what endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. so our spirits are dead. To awake spiritually you must eat and drink of the spirit!

What about the women at the well!

John 4:7 When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” 8 (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)9 The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.[a])10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”

She is talking about regular water, Jesus is talking about the spirit of God.

11 “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?”

13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Now watch she is opening her heart from the words of God, bread, his flesh and Jesus is about to give her a drink, His spirit.

15 The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water so that I won’t get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.”

16 He told her, “Go, call your husband and come back.”

17 “I have no husband,” she replied.

Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband. 18 The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.”

19 “Sir,” the woman said, “I can see that you are a prophet. 20 Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.”

21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

25 The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.”

26 Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am he.”

The women gets it! She drank His blood and ate His flesh, she then goes and tells everyone she knows she found the Messiah! This is someone spiritually now alive in Christ!

I thank you for your time and I pray you eat His flesh, (read His word daily) I pray you drink His blood ( Worship Him, praise Him, open your heart to him and seek Him deeply) He will give you a drink where you will never thirst again!!! God bless you!!
