FALLEN SOLDIER

FALLEN SOLDIER_edited-2

We all stand the chance of falling. Even if you don’t think so, It can happen to you. We have a world that wants to pull us in. We have an enemy that knows our individual weaknesses. Storms come, life happens and you never know what shore you will get washed up on, ask Jonah!

Jonah 1:3 But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord.

Jonah 1:15

New International Version (NIV)

15 Then they took Jonah and threw him overboard, and the raging sea grew calm.

Jonah’s Prayer

17 Now the Lord provided a huge fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

You can fall away or try to run from the Lord, It’s all the same if  you ask me. It can happen due to a tragic situation, lies enter your mind, or simply becoming weary and tired. You might be in the process of running, you might be in the belly of the whale, you could have been spewed out of the whales mouth or you can simply be denying that your sin is not going to catch up to you. You will find that you might be subject to a fall.

It is important to remember we are dust compared the the Lords holiness and righteousness. We need a constant humility. We need the truth daily and we need strong fellowship, or who are we kidding? I hope to become a part of your strong fellowship. If you are struggling right now in your walk with God, and you know you aren’t where you should be with Him, I want to tell you, He is waiting for you to surrender. He is waiting to pour out mercy on you. If you are struggling with addiction friend, I know the defeat you are feeling. You might even be asking why God isn’t helping? God helps those who help themselves. It starts with you. You must make a decision to no longer listen to the lies about who you are. You need to understand the attack on your life and why Satin fills our lives with lies? He does it because He wants to separate us from God. He does not want us to find our true identity in Christ. Look at His attack on Adam and Eve, it started with a lie, based on giving them a false identity, resulting in the separation from God.

You must be given eyes to see before you can have the courage to climb out of the pit, crawl out of the whales belly or to jump ship on your own! See life for what it is through the lives shared with us in the Bible. You can find everything you are struggling with in the Bible. Notice how God dealt with each of them, look at what they did wrong and look at what they did right and try to apply it to your own life. God had a purpose for Jonah but Jonah ran from it, is that you? are you running from God or yourself? Adam and Eve ran and they hid. Why because they knew they were naked. Our sin leaves us feeling naked and shameful, this is why people fall into addictions and run away from God. What you have to decide is are you going to be a victim or a victor? Christ promises you the victory if you will stand up and profess it!!! Yes, profess it!!!God is waiting for you to stand and put on faith. It is through speaking the truth, believing in your heart and walking towards it. God comes from behind empowering our lives forward. It doesn’t matter what you have done Gods grace is enough for you, if you will repent and turn towards Him. Lets look how Jonah repented.

Jonah 2 (New International Version)

Jonah 2

New International Version (NIV)

[a]From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the Lord his God. He said:

“In my distress I called to the Lord,
and he answered me.
From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help,
and you listened to my cry.
You hurled me into the depths,
into the very heart of the seas,
and the currents swirled about me;
all your waves and breakers
swept over me.
I said, ‘I have been banished
from your sight;
yet I will look again
toward your holy temple.’
The engulfing waters threatened me,[b]
the deep surrounded me;
seaweed was wrapped around my head.
To the roots of the mountains I sank down;
the earth beneath barred me in forever.
But you, Lord my God,
brought my life up from the pit.

“When my life was ebbing away,
I remembered you, Lord,
and my prayer rose to you,
to your holy temple.

“Those who cling to worthless idols
turn away from God’s love for them.
But I, with shouts of grateful praise,
will sacrifice to you.
What I have vowed I will make good.
I will say, ‘Salvation comes from the Lord.’”

10 And the Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.

Friend if you will call out to Him, He is waiting. He will not only forgive you but He will give your life strength and purpose. Stop running, stop listening to lies, God has a plan and a calling on your life. It wont be easy, so surround yourself with strong believers that can pray for you and give you guidance. You do not have to be a victim any longer. God says………….

  1. Joel 3:10
    Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weakling say, “I am strong!”

God bless you and may the power of lies be broken in your life. May God give you the eyes to see truth and the strength to walk in it.

  1. I really enjoyed your post about Jonah. Jehovah teaches us so many valuable lessons through his word and his servants and ministers. I remember that the application of Jehovah’s principles is not always easily understood. God’s viewpoint and thinking are so much higher than ours that we don’t see the value immediately. This requires Jehovah to use patience, mercy and mildness when teaching us imperfect humans. Jonah’s heart was significantly affected by Jehovah’s righteousness Through our relationship with him, he gradually adjusts and refines us so his glory is reflected in and through us. Thank you for that important reminder.

  2. Very well said my Brother. Jonah is so inspirational in his prayer to God its easily forgotten over time. Satin likes to rob us of the profound biblical events and meaningful scripture Jesus speaks. I think more than not I through myself over board and tread water. Maybe we need a whale sometimes?
    Your Discernment in your words are truly Lord Led Thank You

  4. I like your passion. When you said we struggle with something, I like when you solicited fellowship which is community we as brothers and sisters of the faith should do, Bear one another infirmities. I found in my quest to represent Christ that I had to totally submit to His over taking of my life. I allowed the “arrest” of my soul to be chained to His chariot. Jesus is the conqueror of life and death, Jesus is the victory over all sin. I realized it is His victory that God has allowed us to partake in. When that revelation hit my life, That’s when I got spewed out of the belly of the whale called sin. I still struggle, but submission says run back to your first love.

    Great job and I pray that you will keep us all inspired and hopeful with more of His anointing.
